Albert Lea Area Schools to maintain Distance Learning through end of first semester
Because of the continued high Covid caseload in Freeborn County, Albert Lea Area Schools will continue with Distance Learning through the end of First Semester, December 22nd. A decision on our learning format for January will be made the week of December 29th.
The only adjustment to our calendar prior to the end of the semester will occur on Friday, December 4th. This will be a homework only day for students, as teachers throughout the district will be planning distance learning for the rest of the semester. This includes Distance Learning Academy students. If necessary, building-specific information will be forthcoming at a future date.
Child Care Albert Lea Area Schools will continue to provide child care at Hawthorne Elementary to children of Tier 1 families according to Executive Order #20-82: For more information click here
Meal Distribution We will continue to provide meals for students and families through December 22nd. Please visit here for pick up information
Activities The status of district activities will be determined at a future date.
Thanks to all of our families for being flexible during these challenging times. We are hopeful that this shutdown will be short, and the last one our students and staff face this school year.
