🎶 Hawthorne had the opportunity to enjoy a special performance from Son de Cuerdas today! Students listened to beautiful music played on the piano, harp, and flute. Their music comes from Latin America, Hispanic countries, and Mexico, giving our students a wonderful chance to experience different cultures through music. Thank you, Son de Cuerdas, for sharing your talents with us! 🌎🎵

Officer Huse demonstrates a proactive approach to safety and a deep commitment to the long-term development of Albert Lea Area students. His performance is characterized by high visibility, exceptional professionalism, and a philosophy that prioritizes behavioral growth over simple discipline.

Kindergarten is soaring through the ABC Countdown with the letter K today 🪁

Our little learners had a blast flying kites and enjoying the fresh air while celebrating all things K. So much joy, laughter, and excitement filled the sky today ☀️

Hawthorne students in Mrs. Severtson’s room took the lead as they reviewed multi-digit multiplication! ✖️💡

Through student-led learning, they explained their thinking, supported one another, and built confidence in their skills. It was so empowering to see them take ownership and shine as math leaders! ❤️💙

What a wonderful day at Halverson Elementary! Our kindergarten and 1st grade students put on an amazing informance, showcasing all they’ve been learning in music class with Ms. Hamvas. From joyful songs to fun rhythm games and energetic dances, our students truly shined on stage. We are so proud of their hard work, confidence, and enthusiasm. Thank you to our families for joining us to celebrate these talented young performers! 🎶✨

Halverson had the pleasure of hosting author Coach Sloth today! 🦥 📚 He talked to kids about the writing process, the importance of reading, and the value of hard work. Students also got to participate in a skit with an anti-bullying message. A few lucky paw drawing winners from each grade level got to eat lunch with Coach Sloth!

Yesterday at Hawthorne, third grade celebrated the letter F in our ABC Countdown 🎉

Students came dressed as their favorite characters and enjoyed some cozy flashlight reading time, making books feel extra fun 🔦📚

Hawthorne 5th graders had an exciting day touring Southwest Middle School today 🏫✨
Students explored all the opportunities waiting for them next year including band 🎺🎶, choir 🎤🎵, and orchestra 🎻🎼. They even got to try out instruments and participate in fun choir exercises 🎶👏
They also met with Mr. Johnson, who shared what middle school life is all about and helped ease some of those nerves about the transition 💬💡

Our 3rd graders had a fantastic time celebrating Arbor Day! A big thank you to the Albert Lea Lions for supporting this special experience. Students were excited to plant their trees and learn how they help create more oxygen and a healthier environment for everyone.

🌳✨ Our 3rd graders have been busy learning about Arbor Day and why trees are so important to our world! From providing oxygen to giving homes to animals, they discovered just how much trees do for us every day.

The best part? Each student received their very own tree to plant! 🌱💚 We can’t wait to see these little trees grow right alongside our students.
