Bringing Joy and Thankfulness Together
Halverson Elementary is thrilled to host Harvest of Thanks, an exciting indoor celebration designed to bring our entire school community together around themes of gratitude, fun, and connection. This special event showcases the creativity, energy, and spirit of thankfulness that defines our school culture.

Look at all the great things Mrs. Ziebell and her students have been doing today! They’ve been buzzing with learning and teamwork. We love seeing our students start the week with such excitement and curiosity.
Keep up the amazing work, Tigers! 🐯❤️💙

Halverson Buddies are in full swing as our 2nd and 5th graders came together for a special “I Am Thankful” writing activity. Fifth graders practiced their letter-writing skills while supporting our second graders in writing thoughtful sentences. The excitement was contagious when our second graders received heartfelt letters from their buddies - a wonderful way to build connections and celebrate thankfulness at Halverson!

Our kindergarten students are having a blast rotating through stations - working together, following directions, and practicing important movement skills. We love seeing their teamwork, focus, and excitement as they tackle each task with their groups. Way to go, Tigers! 🎉🏃♀️🏃♂️🏅

🌟 Happy Monday, Hawthorne! 🌟
Today, Mrs. Madore’s multilingual learners have been busy showing what they know with Flashlight360. This tool helps students practice speaking and writing by looking at a photo and responding to a prompt, and each grade is shining in their own way.
✨ 2nd grade is showing what they know about change and adapting through the seasons.
🌊 3rd grade is showing what they know about the sea.
❤️ 4th grade is showing what they know about a great heart, both literal and figurative.
🪶 5th grade is showing what they know about the Nez Perce tribe.
We are proud of their hard work and their growth. Keep shining, Tigers! 💬✨📚

Today our students enjoyed a special performance from a Readers’ Theatre group. The performers brought stories to life with expression, humor, and energy, showing our students just how fun reading and storytelling can be. 🌟
A big thank you to our guests for sharing their love of reading and inspiring our Hawthorne Tigers. ❤️💙

Today our school came together to recognize and honor the Veterans in our community. Our students sang with pride, listened with respect, and learned about the courage, service, and sacrifice that protect our freedoms.
As we looked around the room, we saw children standing tall, Veterans holding memories close, and families feeling proud. It was a reminder that bravery often lives in quiet stories, in moments of service we may never fully see, and in the everyday people who have given so much.
To our Veterans: thank you for your strength, your dedication, and the example you set for our students. We are grateful today and every day. ❤️💙🇺🇸

Today, our 3rd graders took a special trip to visit our neighbors at Thornecrest. Students shared smiles, songs, and gratitude as they sang Veterans Day songs to honor those who have served.
It was a beautiful moment of connection, kindness, and community. We are so proud of our students for spreading joy and showing appreciation. 💖✨
One Team, One Dream! 🐅🎶

At Halverson, we are so proud of our amazing fifth graders! Three of our students received Honorable Mention, and one earned 3rd Place in this year’s Fire Safety Poster Contest! Way to go, fifth graders! Your creativity, effort, and school spirit shine bright! Be sure to check out their outstanding posters proudly displayed in our front hallway!

Our Kindergarten kiddos had a fabulous time celebrating the 50th day of school yesterday! 👗🕺
They explored then and now through sorting activities, learned some classic 1950s dance moves, and even read books written in the ‘50s! 📚✨
What a fun way to learn and celebrate growing smarter every day at Hawthorne Elementary! ❤️💙
